The Department of M.com is one of the pioneering Department of the college which came in to existence in the year 2015. Differentiating itself from the traditional course the Department came into existence to offer a much sought for specialized postgraduate Programme. This Department aims at satisfying the need of human resource of corporate with sound accounting and taxation knowledge to supplement the professional accountants and taxation aspects.

Inaugural Function and Fresher's Day. The inaugural function of SIMS was held on 20/08/2016 between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at ocarina, college campus. A cultural Programme was presented by II year M.com students.

UDYAMI-2K17:

M.COM Department has organized fest called UDYAMI 2K17 on 16th march 2017.The registration was started at 9:00 am till 10:00 am .Students from various colleges has registered their name for various events organized by PG department of commerce. Inauguration was started at 10:30 the chief guest was Dr.JALAJA Professor at kolar PG Centre.The fest was anchored by Devija 4th sem M.com, the Inauguration was started by praying to lord ganesha and lighting lamp by chief guest. The welcome speech was done by Dr.Suresh C Hegadi principal, SIMS. Inaugural speech was done by our guest Dr. JALAJA.The vote of thanks was given by shwetha from I year M.com.

  • A Report on orientation about co-operative societies and its impact on Indian banking sector. To give the broad knowledge about the co-operative societies and its impact on Indian banking sector the department of commerce and management has taken the initiation of giving an orientation to all M.com III semester students by Mr. Ravi.V (Asst. professor in AIMS) on 29th October 2016. The talk of the speaker was the Centre of attraction for the sessions and it has been concluded with different group discussions. Overall the orientation was very beneficiary to the students.
  • A Report on Public Debt Management. To give the broad knowledge about the public debt management and risk management the department of commerce and management has taken the initiation of giving an orientation to all M.com I and II semester students by Dr. B. M. Rammurthy, UG Director(AIMS) On 17th December 2016. The talk of the speaker was the Centre of attraction for the sessions and it has been concluded with different group discussions. Overall the orientation was very beneficiary to the students.
  • A Report on Contemporary Issues on HRM and Training. The main idea is to exchange experiences and to develop good practices on HRM and training in statistical offices. To give the broad knowledge about the contemporary issues on HRM and training the department of commerce and management has taken the initiation of giving an orientation to all M.com I semester students by Mr. Ramnath, Corporate Trainer On 24th December 2016. The talk of the speaker was the Centre of attraction for the sessions and it has been concluded with different group discussions. Overall the orientation was very beneficiary to the students.
  • A Report on Orientation about need of Ethics in the society. Ethics is a philosophical discipline relating to concepts of good and bad in our moral life in community. Ethics tries to create a sense of right and wrong in the organization and often when the law fails, it is a ethics that may stop organization from the harming society. To give the broad knowledge about the contemporary issues on HRM and training the department of commerce and management has taken the initiation of giving an orientation to all M.com I and II semester students By Mr. Suresh .G (HOD of MBA in BITIT) On 24th September 2016.
  • A Report on Orientation about Goods and Service Tax. The government of india intends to introduce the goods and service tax (GST) in the country at the earliest. GST seeks subsume many indirect taxes at the central and state level. The proposed dual GST envisages taxation of the same taxable event that is supply of goods and services, simultaneously by the both central and state. To give the broad knowledge about GST the department of commerce and management has taken the initiation of giving an orientation to all M.com III semester students by Mr. Darmendra, from (AIGS) On 20th August 2016. The talk of the speaker was the Centre of attraction for the sessions and it has been concluded with different group discussions. Overall the orientation was very beneficiary to the students.
  • A Report on Orientation about Inflation and its affects. Inflation is the most immediate economic parameter to be associated with the hike of prices, it has its long and far reaching effects on society vulnerable to the effects of global inflation than the currencies of the poorer and developing nations. To give the broad knowledge about inflation and its effects the department of commerce and management has taken the initiation of giving an orientation to all M.com I semester students by Mrs. Mamatha, (HOD of SVIT) On 17th September 2016. The talk of the speaker was the Centre of attraction for the sessions and it has been concluded with different group discussions. Overall the orientation was very beneficiary to the students.
  • Case Study Analysis On Family Management Business by Mr. Keerthan Kumar, CEO, SIMS.
  • On receiving the letter of permission from Mysore silk industry corporation, Mysore. Students with two faculty members (Mrs. Haritha and Mrs. Prithvi) went on an industrial visit to the Mysore silk industry on 12/10/2016. We all assembled at the college at 6:30 a.m. and we left the college in a bus (Happy Holiday Travel Agency). We reached the Mysore silk industry at 2:30 p.m. They received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about their industry. The visit came to an end at 4:00 p.m. We left the premises at 4:30 p.m. It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit.
  • As students of commerce, we learned about production, sales variations, variations in profits, and their working environment among employees, and we also seen the health and safety measures provided to employees by the industry
  • Industrial visit was organized on 10 may 2016 by M.com coordinator Mss. Haritha. M. Raju. Industry: UNIBIC Cookies. Address: Madanayakanahalli, Tumkur road. All M.com 2nd sem students left college at 10:00 am and reached UNIBIC cookies at 10:30 am. After reaching there they informed us to follow safety measure. First they took us to warehouse and they informed unique things about their cookies.while leaving from their they gave 2 varieties of biscuits.
  • A Report on Community Development Programme regarding creating awareness of traffic The main objective is to create awareness regarding rules to be followed, effect of violating traffic rules. This was one of the proudest program, provided the social service by the SIMS by creating the traffic awareness in the public.
  • On receiving the letter of permission from SWAVALAMBHI TRUST (REGD.MGD-4-008/2009-10). Students with two faculty members (Mrs. Haritha and Mrs. Nethravathi) went on an orphanage near ullal main road, bhavani nagar 2nd stage, Bangalore-560056, on 01/1/2017. We all assembled at the college at 6:30 a.m. and we left the college in bus. We reached the SWAVALAMBHI TRUST at 2:30 p.m. they received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about their trust. The visit came to an end at 4:00p.m. We left the premises at 4:30p.m. It was a good experience as we met many children and we played and enjoyed with them and a very successful visit. We humble request to the public to join with the organization to grace, save and develop the poor and needy people. We express our thanks to the principal Mr.Suresh c hegade who permitted us to go on the visit, the faculty members .

  • And I year M.Com students presented paper Indo-Asian Academy regarding, Employee turnover in educational institution by Chethan s I year m.com. Labour welfare facilities at garment industry by Narasimharaju I Year m.com.
  • And II year m.com students also presented paper in sindhi college.
  • And I Year m.com students also presented paper in SDC College ,Kolar,st. claret college,Bangalore.
  • And all I and II Year students participated in BIT intercollegiate fest,Ananthpur.
